This variety was developed in Europe and introduced to America about 1700. The plants are June bearing. The fruit is wedge conical shaped and scarlet red. The fruit is very mild tasting and delicious. The aroma is strong when the fruit is fully ripe. In our opinion, the flavor is superior. The soft nature of the fruit will not allow it to be shipped long distances but grown locally it is an excellent choice.
