Fragaria viridis is an interesting species. The plants tend to be June bearing and produce many runners. The red fruit is very small, similar in size to the wild woodland strawberry, smaller than the alpine types. It has been used as one parent in various types of crosses. Crosses with F. vesca are hybrids known as F. x bifera. We have some bifera plants and will be testing them. This species has not been available before in the U.S. but is native to Europe.
We will update the shopping cart inventory in early 2013. Shipments of this variety begin in mid to late March 2013.
