TSS Fabric Pot - 12" diameter

$4.99

Fabric pots are more expensive than plastic pots but the advantages far outweigh the cost factor. They will not rot. They are cheaper to because they fold and are light weight. Fabric pots allow aeration and the soil is cooler by up to 20 degrees in the summer.

These white aeration containers will cool the soil more that the black fabric containers on the market. They do not dry out as fast either due to their design and the patented material used. Cooler soil temperature is important for strawberries which are a cool season crop.

Our experience is that ever bearing day neutral alpines fruited up to 3 weeks longer than plants in conventional plastic pots in the spring season. The plants also start setting fruit in late summer earlier, we believe, due to the cooler soil temperatures.

Other advantages include getting the plants off the ground to allow better air circulation. We also appreciate not having to bend down as far to harvest the fruit. We can pull up a chair and pick the berries. We also appreciate less need for weeding compared to planting in the ground.

Before winter, the containers are easily moved together for winter protection and covered with straw in a common area. They could also be moved to an unheated shed or garage.

Holds approx. 3.9 gallons.
