Fragaria virginiana 'Intensity' is a runnering wild type strawberry that produces larger fruit than we've seen in many of the alpines. The fruit has a wild flavor but is not an alpine type. In addition, the fruit tends to be shaped like garden varieties with sunken seeds on the surface and many times the calyx stays on the fruit when picked like a garden variety. We have not intensively tested this variety but are introducing it now to give you a chance to trial it yourself.
