'Little Scarlet' can also be classified as a heirloom or heritage variety. It has been grown in the U.K. since the 1600's.
'Little Scarlet' is perhaps the most famous Virginia strawberry. It is grown exclusively in the UK by one grower who has protected the variety by not distributing the plants or seeds.Rather, they have been selling a very famous jam/preserves named after the variety. Amazon.com carries Little Scarlet Jam/Preserve. Last time we checked it was $21 for 12 oz.
For the first time outside the U.K. we are offering plants of this famous variety. The first commercial offering that we know of ANYWHERE! We have not tested this variety for long because we wanted to make it available on a limited basis as soon as we could propagate enough to introduce them.
These plants will be shipped from the state of TN. We are marketing these plants for a small nursery in the state of TN.
