We are receiving more frequent phone calls and emails about growing and selling the fruit of alpine strawberries, fraises des bois. We are writing a book but it will be some time before even a rough draft will be finished. In the interim we have decided to create a membership system to make information available to members at several levels. Here is an outline of the membership levels:
- Level 1 is Free and will make available basic information. Much of this information is already online but needs to be consolidated.
- Level 2 is Free and is for home gardeners. Again, much of the information for this level is already online.
- Level 3 is aimed at Market Gardeners and will cost $15 for 6 months (total for 6 months, NOT per month). In addition to the information available above we will get into protective culture, basic marketing strategy, economics, harvest and post harvest and more.
- Level 4 is for commercial growers and will cost $35 for 6 months (total for 6 months, NOT per month). The information will be comprehensive. It will include all of the material mentioned above plus a literature review of scientific studies of production and growing methods including field production, high tunnel and hydroponic production. It will also highlight some of the studies and experience we have with growing with LED’s and use of far-red spectrum lighting for germination.
We do not have timeline yet for making the information and memberships available. When we are ready this page will offer that information.
